Partnership

Discipling a nation is a huge vision, bigger than any one person or organization. Though our vision is great we have never felt that we are capable of fulfilling it on our own. We understand that we are only part of the harvest force, and a very small part at that! If everyone in the Czech Republic is to have the opportunity to hear the good news and see it lived out among them through a local church or small group, then partnership is not optional.

The Basis of Our Partnerships

Our partnerships are driven by theological conviction on the one hand and practical considerations on the other. Theologically, we are devoted to working with the entire body of Christ. We desire to serve all churches: the conservative and the contemporary, the existing and the emerging, the denominational and the independent. Our only criteria are to collaborate with evangelical partners. Our partners believe: (1) the Bible is the Word of God, and (2) peace with God, the forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal life, are through faith in Christ alone. This is the basis of our unity. In essence, we are kingdom-minded.

We also believe it is the responsibility of the church to plant churches. That is why we facilitate church planting partnerships. Local churches in the States help churches in the Czech Republic plant churches; some churches in Eastern Europe have even helped churches in America plant churches!

Practically, we are committed to working collaboratively. The diversity of the body of Christ is necessary if we are to facilitate church multiplication that leads to church planting movements, movements that saturate the region with healthy small groups and local churches. Since this vision is bigger than one person, church or organization we must partner with others. By partnering and collaborating we take advantage of the church’s diversity.

Characteristics of Our Partnerships

They all focus on planting a church or helping a church become healthy so it can plant churches. Every partnership is unique but they share some common characteristics. In the last fifteen years we have learned about healthy partnerships.

• Healthy Partnerships Are Mutual. It is important for the partners to identify what they have in common. Shared vision and goals make it is possible to work together.
• Healthy Partnerships Are Meaningful. Excellent partnerships are strategically successful. Partners target specific objectives and evaluate themselves accordingly.
• Healthy Partnerships Are Relational. Relationships are as important as shared vision and common goals. Genuine care and concern, compassion and commitment bond the individuals in the partnership together.
• Healthy Partnerships Are Reciprocal. The partners benefit one another and offer what the other needs. Each one gives and receives something of value.
