Research

The research project, Basic Information About Evangelical Churches in the Czech Republic (1990-2000), completed in 2002 represents an initial effort to research both the harvest field (people with whom we share the Gospel) and the harvest force (those active in proclaiming the Gospel, specifically churches in this case).

In terms of researching the harvest field, the research project used census data from the year 2000 to track information such as:

  • Nationality and age categories represented in the Czech Republic.
  • People’s religious affiliation.
  • Religious information for cities with populations of at least 50,000.

With regard to the harvest force, the research shows the development of Czech evangelical churches between the years 1990 and 2000. Data includes the number of churches and members by denomination as well as growth patterns during the 1990’s.
